With shows such The Great British Sewing Bee (which we will miss), and the rise of stars such as Tilly Buttons (who we LOVE BTW), it is becoming more and more popular to sew your own clothes.
Not only that, but I feel that we are incredibly lucky enough to be able to live in a time when it is quite literally fashionable to dress as yourself. You can be into pin up and Rockabilly styles... inspired by the 1940’s and 1950’s, which inspired our Easy as Pie Rockabilly Style dress or
Even something a little more modern and low-crotch, such as our Bea Jumpsuit, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.
The general rule is, if you feel comfortable, and love the look, then why not pull it off. Unfortunately though, modern stores don’t always cater for all of these styles, which is why we are always trying to grow our range of clothing, to help you to create your own style.
And for those who are still new to sewing, remember we also have sewalongs, come and join us and watch these videos, to help to improve your mad sewing skills.
Our next Sewalong will be the Ladies short sleeve dress shirt, which we are launching on the 13th of May.
And of course we announced that this month we are launching two sewalongs, the second one will be on the 27th of May, and will be YOUR choice!
That’s right, take the below survey, and help us to choose the next sewalong and you could WIN! Next week, we are going to announce the winner, who will be receiving an annual Sewing Club Subscription! That’s right – get loads of FREE brand new sewing patterns (120 to be exact) for FREE!

This week’s featured pattern
The Nyla Dress
This beautiful summer dress is one of the patterns we receive the most feedback on, from it being used as a bridesmaid dress for the perfect wedding look, to it being perfect for a formal summer afternoon function. Our favorite feedback however came this week from Jessica, From Georgia USA when she said:
"A little over a month ago I went on a first date and was inspired to create this dress for myself just for the occasion, not only did I feel beautiful and confident but my date was breath taken by how I looked. Needless to say the date went well, and there has been many more since... thank you for creating this beautiful sewing pattern, and helping to make it a perfect night!"
A Gift for Mom!
