Orange is the new black

Here at NonStopCraft we believe in holistic crafting. Sewing, knitting, crochet and cross stitch have been proven therapies to help us deal with stress, physically and emotionally.
This week we are looking at this from a completely different angle. By adding certain colours into our crafting hobbies, we can achieve different effects within ourselves.
The color orange radiates warmth and happiness, combining the physical energy and stimulation of red with the cheerfulness of yellow.
Orange relates to 'gut reaction' or our gut instincts, as opposed to the physical reaction of red or the mental reaction of yellow.
Orange offers emotional strength in difficult times, assisting in recovery from grief. The color psychology of orange is optimistic and uplifting, rejuvenating our spirit
This week we would like to set a challenge for all our followers, use orange in your latest crafting project, let it inspire you to heal as you create it and share it with us in twitter @MySewingPattern or on our Facebook page and share your project with us and let us know how working with the color orange affected you during the creation of your project... we look forward to hearing from you.
It being so close to Halloween also give gives you the opportunity, and a great reason to create something in orange, visit our Halloween section to see what crafts we have for the season.

Pattern of the week

Easy Maxi Skirt Pattern

This Maxi Skirt sewing pattern is incredibly quick and easy to make. I made this as my orange project. Any time I begin to feel down, or I start my day feeling out of sorts, I put on this skirt. Wearing this feminine flowing skirt, in such a cheerful color lifts my mood almost instantly, and I know it’s going to be a good day!

Happy Sewing!
